1. Disposal of electrical and electronic equipment
The symbol of the crossed-out wheeled bin means that this device must not be disposed of in household waste at the end of its life. You are required by law to take waste equipment to a collection point separate from unsorted municipal waste.

2. Batteries and lamps
Before handing in a device at a collection point, owners of waste equipment must remove, without destroying them, any waste batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed by the device, as well as any lamps that can be removed without destruction. This does not apply where waste equipment is prepared for reuse with the involvement of a public waste management authority.

3. Options for returning waste equipment
Owners of waste equipment from private households can hand it in free of charge at the collection points of the public waste management authorities (e.g. municipal recycling centres) or at the take-back points set up by manufacturers or distributors within the meaning of the German ElektroG.

4. Data protection notice
Waste equipment often contains sensitive personal data. This applies in particular to information and telecommunications technology devices such as computers and smartphones. In your own interest, please note that each end user is responsible for deleting the data on the waste equipment to be disposed of.

5. Meaning of the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol
The symbol indicates that equipment marked in this way must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste. Proper disposal protects the environment and human health and enables the recovery of valuable raw materials.
